This album was written over the course of 3 months, as a project of acceptance and recovery from an unfathomable terror I experienced on January 26th, 2013 through especially January 29th, and more vaguely, February 7th. That night, 5 of my closest friends and myself mistakenly ingested an incredibly reactive chemical that left all but one of us hospitalized. I was delivered the most deafening blow of the group, enduring several hours of seizures, and eventual comatose where I stayed for a little under three days. from there, I was transported to iNOVA Fairfax Hospital in Virginia where I stayed in ICU, and was treated with dialysis until my kidneys had regained function and I was essentially able to care for myself again.
The experience itself was, BOLDLY hallucinogenic beyond explanation. a 100 fold 5-MeO-Dymethyltryptamine esque experience, most closely described using the term "death", as I see it. Full death of body and ego, transportation of soul and aura to afterlife state. Completely loss of senses, first Sight. Then Sound. and loss of touch, scent, and taste simultaneously after. suspended in perpetual feeling of falling and trying to catch myself. stuck for seemingly eternal periods of space in broken loops that start from the middle and end at the beginning such as leaning to my left to accept an index card, which when looked at becomes the mirror image of me passing the card to my right, which was accepted by me just before hand, the same card I was currently looking at, and so on in that manner.
Traveling through my experience i came in contact with my last two past lives, the latter as a weeping willow (I'm a Tree)and the more recent as woman, who died bitter and alone in a hospital, sitting in a wheelchair smoking a cigarette that never seemed to get any shorter, she had large white hair, wearing a violet and turquoise winder breaker when she passed. (The Old Woman) right before I began seizing, I was screaming to my friends in the room, "I'm the Sacrifice, you get there, and you see it, and... And then, you Die" (Sacrifice) (And then, you Die, "In Evening Air")
The introduction track was assembled using vocal samples from friends, members of my family, and doctors from my stay at the hospital. recalling memories of conversations shared. Near the end of the track was my best attempt at recreating the auditory hallucinations that occurred during the time while I was having the seizures. I explained it most commonly as having my brain, stuck within the wedges of a large, hellish malfunctioning machine known as (The Crank)
